SHANE EVANSHINE
OWNER/BARBER
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at 19 years old. This led to my nearly 20 year career as an air traffic controller in the military and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). After many relocations to multiple countries, states, and cities, I retired in 2019.
My wife Ashly and I then decided to move back home to Cincinnati to raise our daughter (Olivia) near family. After realizing I had a passion for helping others both look and feel great, I started a new profession as a barber at age 39.
This has been quite a career change, but I’m so lucky to have found something that I enjoy so much. Opening a barbershop and being a part of the local community has been a dream of mine since starting this adventure.
My hope is that Shine Barbershop is a place everyone can enjoy!

My name is Anderson James Abney, also known as AJ. I was born in Florence, KY, and spent my formative years in Cincinnati.
I enjoy spending time with my family and being active. My wife, Paige, and I have been together since we met at the age of 14. We are thrilled to be growing our family together as we just welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world in may 2025 and are expecting a baby boy in mid april 2026. Growing up, I was actively involved in football, basketball, and rugby. Nowadays, I enjoy spending my free time playing golf with friends.
After serving the community as a firefighter, I discovered an even greater passion for serving people through barbering. From the moment I was introduced to the craft, I developed a deep respect for it and felt a sense of fulfillment. Barbering has been a tremendous blessing, and I am excited to continue this journey at Shine Barbershop.
I look forward to welcoming you to my chair and having the privilege of serving you.

I grew up in Bellbrook, OH and relocated to Cincinnati at the age of 19. Here, I met my beautiful wife, Mallory, as well as a great community of friends.
Upon moving to Cincinnati, I explored my love for making music, and discovered that a desire to help & support others fueled that passion. I worked several jobs after moving, but nothing felt properly fulfilling. All the while, barbering was in the back of my mind. I finally made the jump in 2025, and haven’t looked back since. The profession has truly changed the way that I think about work, and I get a sense of fulfillment from every cut. I see barbering as a way to practically and consistently help others, and as a personal, creative outlet.
When I’m not cutting hair, I enjoy playing basketball, spending time with friends, and making music in my home studio.
I look forward to my time spent with you and I am grateful for the opportunity to have you in my chair.
